18 rooms · Georgian townhouse · Est. 1823
Thornbury House is a quiet Georgian townhouse hotel on a garden square, eight minutes' walk from Princes Street and Stockbridge, with the Castle and Calton Hill on your doorstep.
The house
Built in 1823 as part of Edinburgh's second New Town, Thornbury House joins two A-listed family homes into an 18-room hotel. We've kept the cantilevered stone stair, the cornicing and the working sash windows, and added deep beds, rain showers and a team who know the city by heart.
Rooms and suites
Eighteen rooms, no two alike, from cosy Snug Doubles under the eaves to the Calton Suite with rooftop views. Every stay includes breakfast cooked to order.

A few words from recent guests about staying with us in the New Town.
“We could walk to everything, from Princes Street to Stockbridge, then come home to the quietest street in the New Town. The breakfast alone is worth the trip.”
