The spaces

Wedding ceremony and reception spaces in Perthshire

A Victorian Great Hall, an eighteenth-century walled garden, a glass pavilion on our own loch and a stone bothy in the birch wood, all on one private estate.

Ceremony, wedding breakfast & ceilidh

The Great Hall

A timber-vaulted Victorian hall with a minstrels' gallery, a log fire big enough to stand in and tall windows looking down the glen.

Built in 1868 for estate gatherings, the Great Hall is where most of our couples dine and dance. Long banqueting tables run beneath iron chandeliers, the gallery is made for a ceilidh band, and the stone floor has seen a century and a half of Strip the Willow. It is also our wet-weather ceremony room, so the plan never depends on the Perthshire sky.

Outdoor ceremonies from May to September

The Walled Garden

An acre of eighteenth-century walled garden, roses climbing the old brick, an arched gateway for your entrance and a lawn for drinks.

Our gardeners have restored the walls, the glasshouse and the long borders, and the David Austin roses along the south wall are at their best from late June. Ceremonies take place beneath the rose arch with your guests seated along the grass walk. Should the weather turn, everything moves to the Great Hall, set and ready, a two-minute walk away.

Glass, oak and water views

The Loch-side Pavilion

A glass-walled oak pavilion on the shore of the estate's private loch, with a deck that catches the last of the sun over the hills.

The Pavilion sits on the edge of Loch Balmoran, the estate's own small hill loch, with doors that fold right back in summer. It suits intimate weddings of up to ninety, sunset vows on the jetty and the kind of dinner where everyone can hear every speech. Lanterns along the shore path guide guests back to the house afterwards.

Elopements & micro weddings

The Bothy

A restored stone bothy in the birch wood with a fire, a long oak table and room for your very closest people.

Once a shelter for the estate's stalkers, the Bothy is now our smallest and most romantic space. It is perfect for an elopement with two witnesses, a micro wedding of up to twenty-four, or a quiet morning-after breakfast with family. Couples often take their vows inside by candlelight in winter, or on the heather terrace outside in summer.
