About The Loch-side Pavilion
Your ceremony, your beliefs
Humanist, civil, religious or interfaith
Humanist weddings are one of the most popular choices in Scotland, and around half of our couples choose one. Whatever you choose, we will help with the paperwork and timings.
- Humanist
- Personal, non-religious and fully legal in Scotland since 2005. Your celebrant writes the ceremony with you and can include a handfasting or quaich.
- Civil
- Conducted by a registrar from Perth & Kinross Council, in any of our four ceremony spaces, indoors or out.
- Religious
- Church of Scotland, Scottish Episcopal, Catholic and other ministers can marry you on the estate, subject to their own rules.
- Interfaith & celebrant
- Blend traditions with an interfaith minister or independent celebrant. We have hosted Hindu, Sikh, Jewish and Muslim family blessings alongside Scottish customs.

Ceremony questions
Getting married in Scotland
Absolutely. Humanist ceremonies have been legal in Scotland since 2005 and many of our couples choose one. Your celebrant conducts the legal marriage, so there is no separate registry office visit.
Each of you submits a marriage notice to the registrar for the district where you are marrying, which for Balmoran is Perth & Kinross. The legal minimum is 29 days before the wedding, but registrars recommend allowing 10 to 12 weeks.
Our estate kitchen caters every wedding, so menus can use the garden and local Perthshire produce. You are welcome to bring your own wine, champagne and whisky for a corkage fee, and we can source a favourite gin or ale.
We hold a date for seven days after a viewing at no cost. A 25% deposit secures it, with the balance due twelve weeks before your wedding.
